Community

I founded the Health Occupation Students of America club (as President) to uproot a community of students interested in pursuing healthcare and substantiate the need for addressing the shortcomings of the health industry. Through HOSA, I sought to connect, guide, and inspire those on the path to professional STEM careers by reinforcing the importance of building a culture of passion, empowerment, and globalized perspective in healthcare delivery. Workshop curriculum developed included health science, medical law and ethics, health professions, modern healthcare challenges, public speaking, community awareness, public health, and digital health literacy.

Another milestone this year for Health Occupation Students of America 2018! 200+ fellow students on campus making a positive difference in their community, we appreciate your kindheartedness and virtuous acts! In collaboration with over 30 clubs, HOSA made its school history, being the first extracurricular organization to achieve this level of engagement through donating the gifts to the children in need during the annual Christmas Gifting event. Thank you to our school, students, teachers, other faculty members, and the record number of organizations that participated in our activity for the holidays! In addition, thank you to National HOSA, California HOSA, and local media for supporting and featuring us. WeFarm is a prototyped app that aims to provide fast and convenient grocery delivery from private organic farms to direct customers. Customers are able to understand where specifically the food was grown from, and can count on the freshness of the produce. At the MIT Launch Regional Demo Day, WeFarm won second place out of 50 teams in the state of California.

I launched a state-wide leadership campaign for HOSA's National Service Project, the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, by garnering over 3.5 thousand followers on social media, aimed to promote civic engagement and global health policy awareness in standard healthcare. I hosted livestreams on servant leadership, advocacy, and raised over $10,000 for the foundation via my social media pages. I was featured by the foundation's social media for my work.
